Windows Wi-Fi is broken
Windows applications is shite. Maybe Windows is too, but it's impossible to tell because of the billions of lines of code in the applications surrounding and obscuring it.
Case in point: Wireless NIC,
a fine Netgear
MA-401 working flawlessly when running OpenBSD but dropping the
connection every few minutes under Windows. It's impossible to use for
IRC or reading email over SSH and it's pissing me off. My new D-Link
DWL-G650 exhibits the same behavior. I haven't had the chance to try
the latter on a Real Operating System™, but
I'd be surprised if the FreeBSD ath
(4)
driver is not much better, i.e. flawless, at least after Windows
standards.
Yes, we hates software, a deep heartwarming hate. We feel so alive.
