Mac OS X on Intel CPUs?

The rumors start to sound credible.

Intel processors are no doubt cheaper than IBM PowerPC processors, but I happen to like the fact that there's at least one major desktop computer manufacturer using non-Intel CPUs, just to have some variation.

I highly doubt that if Apple jumps in bed with Intel it will make it possible to go down to your local hardware pusher and get a bamboo PC that can run Mac OS X. I fear a DRM solution to the “problem” (seen from Apples POV), perhaps making it impossible to run alternative operating systems on the hardware, at least OpenBSD, NetBSD and Linux run now on current and most old Mac hardware.

Anyway, Steve Jobs is said to be scheduled to reveal the plans—if the rumors are true—next monday at his WWDC Keynote in San Francisco.
