Forbes the Tabloid

Oct 30, 2005

I stumbled upon this highly tendentious piece: “Attack of the Blogs” (I suggest asking BugMeNot for a login). The stage is set, right from the first paragraph:

Web logs are the prized platform of an online lynch mob spouting liberty but spewing lies, libel and invective. Their potent allies in this pursuit include Google and Yahoo.

I resent being indirectly accused of …spewing lies, libel and invective. by some random idiot journalist. I too have read the weblogs of people whose only reason to write is out of spite againt whatever seems to piss them off. Why people take those bloggers seriously is beyond me, they're always boring, the tabloids of blogging with the same lack of credibility, depth and interesting content as their paper siblings. Obviously Daniel Lyons—the author of “Attack of the Blogs ”—can't distinguish, probably because he's just a tabloid journalist himself.
