Back in December 2004 I gave Mette Marie an Arc'teryx Alpha SV jacket for her birthday to keep her warm and dry in the wild woods of “Vestskoven” where the kindergarten she works in is every second week. I've been envious of it until yesterday where I got my own, a slightly early present for my 35th birthday. As the weather is really wonderfully cold and nasty in Denmark at the moment, it was the perfect time to get it.
I remember reading the job adverts from Arc'teryx in Rock & Ice and Climbing when they started out, promising designers interested and experienced in mountain sports that they would be given free reins to create the perfect garments for that kind of thing. I think they have succeeded.
I've created a small Flickr set so you can see for yourself how nice it is.
