Two days ago I got a packet from Bikebuster with the best thing in the world; new gear! I got a new FSA SLK seatpost, Wing Pro handlebar and a OS-140 stem (120 mm) to improve my position on the bike and give me slightly more room than the 110 mm stem I had before allowed. I also got a Fi'zi:k Arione saddle in silver grey with matching handlebar tape, nearly the color of my FRM Furore CS frame. Very good looking.
Yesterday I only had time for a short ride where I spent ⅓ of the time fiddling around with the saddle and handlebar positions and got it dialed in.
Today I went for an at least 3 hour ride, carrying 4–6 mm allen wrenches to deal with possible misadjustments, but everything was just right, so I didn't need them. I ended up riding for just over 4 hours, 103.4 km, averaging 25.5 km/h; I felt comfortable all the way and the saddle was really nice, but I was of course tired towards the end. Foolishly I rode into Ølstykke and got hopelessly lost in the labyrinth of bikepaths, housing estates and blind roads in the Ølstykke/Stenløse metroplex. Terrible. I get lost everytime I go there on long rides…
I finally escaped Ølstykke and found a nice hilly road in the process, and then home via Gundsømagle. Very nice ride in incredibly nice weather, around 25℃ and only a little wind.
