Influenza Pandemic, days 3 and on

Nov 18, 2009

I’m still not infected.

Also, I did intend to keep a series of blog posts running, but it’s just not funny enough writing about a simple influenza epidemic—that just happens to span the globe—like it’s an outbreak of a zombie virus, portraying Copenhagen as Raccoon City.

I consider this whole Influenza H1N1 debacle a case of collective hysteria, driven by news outlets manned by journalists without any other desire than making the front page, truth and a deeper understanding of the subject matter be damned.

It’s still interesting, since we haven’t had an epidemic—or pandemic for that matter—in decades, and scientists can now monitor the spread of it and probably gather very valuable insights for when something really dangerous breaks out.

Like a zombie virus. Just sayin’…
