It feels very good.
The downside is that I don’t know anything about where I work and what I do after april 1st when the current contract ends. They may extend it—they have an option for a 3 month extension—or decide they don’t need me anymore. Or give me a new contract. I don’t know.
And I am fine with that. I like the freedom.
There’s a lot of work for DevOps consultants at the moment, so the future is looking quite bright. According to my agent they have most of their consultant working full time about 10 months a year. Sounds perfect.
